ABSTRACT

BEFORE WORDS

Abstract painting is older than language

Abst 2.jpg

Long before alphabets, philosophies or mathematics, humanity understood the world through rhythm, colour, movement and symbol.

The first mark on stone was already an abstraction.

Every civilisation began by transforming experience into signs.

Abstract painting returns to that first gesture, not as something primitive, but as something eternal.

Symbols Before Meaning

Abstract painting is the birthplace of symbols.

A circle becomes eternity.

A vertical line becomes presence.

A horizon becomes possibility.

A fracture becomes memory.

A single gesture can communicate what hundreds of sentences cannot.

Meaning does not begin with language.

Language begins with symbols.

Between Chaos and Order

Every painting searches for a precise point of equilibrium.

Too much order becomes lifeless.

Too much chaos becomes noise.

Creation happens where both coexist.

The ancient alchemists called this Coincidentia Oppositorum, the union of opposites.

It is there, between structure and freedom, that the painting begins to breathe.

Pink Poppy Flowers

Where language falls silent, abstraction begins.

Where abstraction begins, imagination becomes creation.
